Walked in solo, sat at the bar, and left feeling like I’d just hung out with an old friend. Matt—the bartender—was personable, funny, and yes… easy on the eyes 👀. He makes a drink so good you’ll question why you ever settled for your home bartending skills. We even found a Charlotte/Mooresville connection that made me feel right at home. Add in some exceptional wings (crispy, saucy perfection) and a surprise brownie for dessert, and let’s just say McCray’s definitely knows how to win a guest over. 10/10 would come back—even if it’s just to see what drink Matt whips up next! 🍹🍗🍫

Great stop for dinner. The fish n chips was really good, not greasy, and not fishy. The pimento cheese fritters were great. It’s a pub, so expect it to be a little loud, especially with a game playing. Overall great atmosphere. Food was fast and hot. Staff were friendly and helpful.

On 9.28.24 the biggest game day of the season McCray's allowed us to host our wedding after party here. When I say thank you could not cover the top tier service that we received from Tiffany and Tony. We had a large party and nothing went wrong, nothing negative to say, food was amazing, drinks were A1!!! A TIME WAS HAD. We wanted something personal and matched who we are as a couple and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Thank you Beth for your follow up to make sure that we had everything we needed leading up to the day. Tiffany, girl, you rock!!!! That was a night to remember and our DJ Jelly loved the vibe there. At the end of the night we were not rushed to leave we were treated with the utmost kindness on our day. Thank you again.

Had lemon pepper wings and they were great! (Not over cooked and seasoning was even and tasty.) My friend got the fish and chips, which he enjoyed. They have a great selection of beer and a well stocked bar. Bartender did a great job managing the orders, our drinks didn’t take more than a couple minutes to arrive each time we ordered them. Our server was attentive without hovering and well versed in their food and beer selections. Our bill was pretty high due to having several alcoholic beverages. (See menu photo for meal pricing.) Definitely going to return!

All the appetizers were very good. My favorites were the brussel sprouts (very sweet) and the chips. Very accommodating restaurant! They hosted our large party. Food came out a little slow, I don't think they were prepared for us with staffing, we probably should have had 2 servers taking care of us. But the server we did have tried their best for the amount of people she had to serve. There were so many things on the menu I liked it was hard to decide.

Dinner for 2 We parked the car in what turned out to be a mixed-use area and lucked out with a spot right up front. As we stepped out, we were greeted by someone we’d later come to know as Tony. He welcomed us warmly and asked if we preferred to sit at a table or at the bar. Surprisingly, Wifey chose the bar. I had made a reservation on OpenTable for 5:15 PM. Even though the place wasn’t too busy at the time, I let Tony know about the reservation just to avoid getting dinged on the app. He acknowledged that and made a note in the system. Tony handed us menus and pointed us to a QR code to scan the beer list. He was enthusiastic about the freshly smoked chicken dinner, which came with two sides. When it came to the beer selection, Tony really knew his stuff. He asked about our favorite styles, and when Wifey said she liked lagers, he recommended a Mexican lager. She ended up going for a full 16 oz pour. As for me, he mentioned a couple of Hazy IPAs, both of which I’d tried already. Then he suggested the Pernicious IPA by Wicked Weed—something I’d also had before and really enjoyed—so I went with that. So it was the Mexican lager for Wifey and the Pernicious for me. After browsing the menu, I ordered the smoked turkey club—no avocado, no tomatoes—with a side of rice and black beans. Wifey went with Tony’s recommendation: the smoked chicken dinner with mac & cheese and coleslaw. My sandwich was excellent. The bread had that perfect crunch on the outside and was soft inside. Everything worked together just right, and even the rice and beans were well-seasoned. Wifey was equally happy with her meal. The smoked chicken had great flavor, the mac & cheese was creamy and satisfying, and even the coleslaw hit the mark. The side portions were generous—big enough that I managed to sneak a few bites myself. All in all, everything was delicious. We both loved our beers, the food hit the spot, and Tony took amazing care of us from start to finish. Instagram: @whatsthenextmemory

I simply did a to-go order. However the host was super helpful and friendly. She provided great service. I ordered a Salmon blt fir my friend and a lunch special of half of a buffalo chicken wrap with a salad. I also ordered one of their NA Moctails, the Strawberry Mockarita and it was one of the best mocktsils I've had. Service was quick, correct, and good. My side salad was huge.
